Minister Assures LCC Cheap Tickets for All Flight Destinations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi assures affordable commercial airplane tickets offered by low-cost carriers (LCC) will be available for every route available despite limited to certain hours.
“[It’s available for] each and every route,” said Budi Karya after a meeting with Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at his office on Tuesday.
Budi Karya did not specify any punishments prepared for air carriers that don’t follow the government’s policy.
After introducing three policies lowering airfares on June 20th, the government evaluation will once again lower airfare’s upper cap or price ceiling following a meeting on Monday at the Coordinating
The Minister’s secretary said that the government is committed to guaranteeing the availability of affordable flights for the public. One air carries that will slash its prices is the state-owned Garuda Indonesia Group’s Citilink Indonesia.
