TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that he has monitored the condition of Jakarta since Wednesday night, ahead of the Constitutional Court (MK) verdict trial on election dispute to be held today, June 27. Based on his observation, there is no need to be worried about the city’s situation.
“Last night, I have checked all from here until around half past ten and there is no need to be concerned,” said the Governor in the City Hall, Thursday afternoon, June 27.
“So far so good,” he added.
Anies believed MK would make a verdict based on principles of justice and entrusted the city security to the police.
He claimed he would not monitor the court’s ruling as he had no time for the matter. “[I] have a lot of work, so we will just wait for the result. [We have] a tight [schedule],” said Anies Baswedan who used to be a campaigner of Prabowo Subianto.
As reported earlier, MK held trials after Prabowo team legally challenged the presidential election result that concluded the winning of Jokowi. Since Monday, June 24, the panel of justices established meetings to decide the ruling that had been set to be delivered today.
Several groups supporting Prabowo, including the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212), determined to stage a rally as to keep an eye to the MK’s ruling on the 2019 presidential election dispute.
