TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal, and Security Wiranto supported the meeting plan of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Prabowo Subianto to bring more peace for Indonesia after the heated presidential election.
“Not a reconciliation, but discussion, a communication. That’s okay, we respect it. This country indeed hopes all problems can be solved by dialogue,” said the Coordinating Minister at Senayan Parliament complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
He was pleased should the Head of National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan held a meeting with Prabowo to talk of the meeting plan with Jokowi.
However, he said he would ask for confirmation first to Budi Gunawan in light of the preliminary meeting as he heard the information from social media.
“I’ll ask BIN first. I get the information from social media,” he said, hoping the meeting would help recover the current political situation and the nation.
“People of our country has a good culture and customs. [A problem] is better to be resolved by dialogue, discussion. If a turmoil emerges, who will suffer losses? We all will,” Wiranto remarked.
