TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan planned to revise a cooperation agreement with private developers concerning the reclaimed island. The revision would be done through an addendum or additional article to the existing deal.
“We can make an addendum, but I cannot talk about the strategy now,” said Anies in the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
Governor explained the position of the city administration in the cooperation agreement was not a regulator, but a partner, and so it was equal with the developers. Thus, Jakarta and private developers are bound to the agreement.
“The position of Jakarta and private developers are the concerned parties in the cooperation agreement, and I never made it.”
One of the collaboration points stipulated in the deal was the distribution of management rights of lands for developers at 35 percent. With the rights, developers required to construct buildings or commercial stores in the reclaimed islets. The rights had been fulfilled by PT Kapuk Naga Indah, that at the end of 2018, its building permit (IMB) had been issued, causing Anies to become public limelight.
According to Anies Baswedan, the developers had just fulfilled 5 percent of the 35-percent rights despite thousands of buildings in D Islet or Pantai Maju.
