TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The Jakarta Raya Ombudsman is planning to open a complaint center for the 2019 students enrollment process (PPDB) following the discovery of inconsistency in the PPDB implementation in Jakarta and West Java Province.
Chief of the Jakarta Raya Obudsman Teguh Nugroho recenty discovered that several regions had implemented a policy that contradicts the Education and Culture Minister Regulation (Permendikbud) No. 51 of 2018 on PPDB.
"In Permendikbud 51/2018, the quota for the zoning system is 90 percent, but in the technical guide of Jakarta PPDB, it is 70 percent," said Teguh in a press release received by Tempo on Friday, June 21, 2019.
Meanwhile, the technical guide for PPDB in West Java stipulates that the 90 percent quota for the zoning system is divided into three parts. "[Namely] pure zoning system, underprivileged households [KETM] and children with special needs [ABK], and a system that combines the distance [of student's house] and student's score," Teguh added.
Based on the different regulation, Jakarta and West Java administrations had clearly violated the ministerial decree.
"As to follow up the case, we will open a complaint center about the implementation of 2019 PPDB," he remarked.
The complaint center will only be open for regions under the Ombudsman Jakarta Raya authority, namely Jakarta, Bogor City and Regency, Bekasi City and Regency, and Depok.
