TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Many people have flocked social platforms, especially Twitter, wishing President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo a happy birthday today, June 21.
A large number of Twitter users wishing him well helped top the hashtag #HBDJokowi as Indonesia’s trending topic as the Surakarta-born president turns 58.
As of Friday morning, there are over 17,000 tweets with this hashtag and counting. This replaced a previously popular hashtag, #ParodiSidangMK that literally translates to ‘Constitutional Court parody’ in response to the presidential election dispute trial held at the Constitutional Court (MK).
No information has yet emerged regarding the president's plans to celebrate his birthday.
Last year, Jokowi held a working visit to monitor the construction process of Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s taxiway and runway 3 construction for his 57th birthday.
This was consistent with what he usually does on his birthday in the last three years, which is continue working.
