TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Sukabumi District transportation agency conducted an operation against urban public transport mini vans - locally known as angkot – that exhibits offensive stickers related to pornography.
“Our operation is meant to eliminate the public perception toward angkots that is seen as unlawful, and sure to educate angkot owners and drivers that their passengers are not always adults but there are also children and students,” said the agency’s secretary general Dede Abdul Latif in Sukabumi earlier this morning.

The operation was held in areas passed by the angkots’ routes. Dede maintained that this operation is also meant to protect passengers and is also hoped to improve the income of the angkot drivers since the absence of offensive vehicle sticker wraps would improve its value.
According to Dede, the local transportation agency also educated the drivers with traffic safety knowledge and the legality of the vehicle these drivers operate.
