TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Ministry is allocating Rp50.9 billion for the renovation of its office building in 2020. The ministry is also budgeting Rp50 billion for purchasing a land on which its archives and assessment building will be built.
During the ministries budgetary and work plan meeting, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartanto—representing SOE Minister Rini Soemarno—said to the House of Representatives (DPR) that the biggest budget allocation in 2020 was for land acquisition and building renovation.

"This building is old and no longer comfortable. It needs renovation throughout its nine floors—taking into account safety aspects. Ceilings have collapsed and hit employees," Airlangga said during a meeting with the DPR's Commission VI on Monday, June 17.
Airlangga also presented eight new initiatives that will be implemented in 2020. Among the initiatives are national priority program support with a budget of Rp15 billion, support for improving SOE regulations (Rp2.5 billion), and the preparation and implementation of the Merit HR System (Rp3 billion).

Thus, the total 2020 indicative ceiling proposed by the SOE Ministry reaches Rp345.8 billion, an increase from this year's Rp208 billion.
