Prabowo Camp to Not Present 12 Truckload of Evidence as Claimed

17 June 2019 10:40 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Previous announcement from Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno’s campaign team (BPN) upon presenting 12 truckloads of evidentiary documents will likely not come to fruition as the pieces of evidence to be presented in the presidential election dispute trial will mostly be in digital form.

“Some of the documents will be in digital form and will likely not reach 12 truckloads,” said BPN spokesman Andre Rosiade on Monday, June 17.

As of today, the BPN legal team will hand over the documents and other pieces of evidence to the Constitutional Court (MK). One of its lawyers Luthfi Yazid said that his team will coordinate with the MK upon the delivery of said pieces of evidence since it involves more than one vehicle.

“It will be sent with the Constitutional Court’s approval considering that this involves numerous pieces of evidence and lots of vehicles,” said Luthfi to Tempo today.

Asked upon the exact number, Luthfi only responded by stating that it would be sent in large volumes and was keen on not debating about comparing the pieces of evidence to the size of trucks that would accommodate it.

“What is being debated is the size of the trucks, that, I will not dwell into. What is clear is that there will be 11 vehicles that will depart to the MK headquarters,” he said. “What’s clear is that there are many, it’s not a lie, there will be many from my personal measurement.”

Previously on Friday, June 14, Luthfi flaunted that the BPN team sent 12 trucks full of pieces of evidence to the MK headquarters but was unable to get them in since the Constitutional Court members were already too exhausted and closed its gates.

However, MK Judge I Dewa Gede Palguna countered Luthfi’s claims and finger-pointing and said that the MK had always scheduled 19:00 as its recess time and had opened its gates after. He also asserts that it had been extended from MK’s usual work hours that last up to 17:00 in the afternoon.
