Sri Mulyani on Role as Country's Finance Manager

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati reminded her ministry's officials on the difficult tasks they faced as the nation’s finance managers. Especially, she said, at a time the world is facing a dynamic situation, the economy that constantly progresses, and inter-nation tensions.
“That is the reason why we must not get caught off guard as the country’s finance managers,” said Sri Mulyani in a written statement on June 14.
After inaugurating 499 Finance Ministry officials today, Sri Mulyani called on each and every one of them to be adaptable to changing situations and able to innovate. The ministry inaugurated 22 second echelon officials and 477 third echelon officials.
Out of the second echelon officials inaugurated today, 5 of them were taken from the Directorate General of Taxation, two Customs and Excise Directorate General, 14 officials from the Finance Ministry's State Assets Directorate General (DJKN), and one from the ministry’s Funding and Risk Management Directorate General (DJPPR).

Meanwhile, the third echelon officials inaugurated today hailed from the ministry’s secretariat general, directorate general of budgets, and five other directorate generals within the Finance Ministry.
Sri Mulyani also appealed to the freshly-inaugurated members to maintain the nation’s unity and diversity, which she considered as one of God’s graces that deserved gratefulness.
