TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's legal team, led by Yusril Ihza Mahendra, announced its readiness in facing the election dispute, which will be put on trial tomorrow at the Constitutional Court (MK).
The team, which represents presidential and vice presidential candidate Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin has handed over their entire case files to the Constitutional Court in response to the lawsuit filed by prsidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno.
'The team representing candidate pair number 01 [Jokowi - Ma'ruf] has handed over additional case files as a response to the lawsuit filed by candidate pair number 02. We are fully prepared to face the trial," said Yusril at the Constitutional Court in Jakarta on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
Jokowi - Ma'ruf team registered 33 legal attorneys to face the 2019 presidential election dispute. These members will take turns during the trial because the number of seats available in the courtroom are limited.
Constitutional Court Chief Justice Anwar Usman said that the 2019 presidential election dispute court trial will be open to the public.
"This means that people can see it live as the trial proceeds and are able to listen to each party's arguments," said Anwar on Monday, June 10, 2019.
