President Jokowi Responds to Bullying of Son, Kaesang

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi acknowledged that his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, was frequently bullied by internet citizens or netizens on social media. However, he said that Kaesang was joyful to gain public attention.
“Kaesang is, in fact, happy. His hobby is to be bullied,” said the President while laughing at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12.
During a special interview with Antara, the former Jakarta Governor admitted to often monitor his son on social media, for example, when Kaesang being a bullying object by netizens who were tired of his acts.
“He thinks that being bullied can help raise his branding,” he added.
Bullying for Kaesang is a promotion strategy of his business, especially when his father saw him preferred selling banana fritters than joining politics. “He chooses to sell banana.”
President Jokowi mentioned that he had frequently asked Kaesang Pangarep about his passion, yet the son refused to follow the father’s path. “I have talked to him, and he answered that he enjoys selling banana, how about it?”
