Aceh Discharges 3 Leaders for Violation of Eid Prayer Location

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three regional leaders in West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, are facing the possibility of being discharged from their current position for failing to conduct the Eid Celebration prayers in their respective civil service areas.
“The discharge against the three regional heads (Camat) is entering its administration process, they had to be exonerated for not carrying out their duties,” said West Aceh Regent H. Ramli MS in Meulaboh on Tuesday, June 11.
According to Ramli MS, the three men were handed harsh sanctions because the men were actually instructed to stay within their regions that they serve prior to the Eid celebration, as it would help bond the regional leaders with local citizens.
He maintains that the three men chose to leave their work areas to spend time with family members in places outside of their designated area.
“They ignored their duties as a leader for the people living within their sub-district. They are forced to be fired from their positions,” said Ramli.
The identities of the three regional heads are still kept under wraps but will be revealed to the public and mass-media once the men have been officially replaced by new members.
