Wiranto: Full Disclosure on May 22 Riots on Tuesday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto promised to provide total disclosure regarding the figures arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the May 21-May 22 riots that broke out in Central Jakarta.
Wiranto also said that he would reveal the alleged involvement of Fauka Noor Farid, a former member of the notorious “Tim Mawar” (Rose Team), who’s been suspected of involvement in the riots.
Wiranto also allowed journalists to ask questions about the rose team to his people who would hold the press conference tomorrow.

“We want to have one complete detailed explanation on the figures who were arrested, on why they were arrested. It will be thoroughly explained tomorrow to the public,” said Wiranto today.
Fauka Noor Farid has lately taken the public spotlight since he was once a member of the Tim Mawar that is notoriously known to be the team that kidnapped Indonesian activists in the 1997-1998 national crises.
He is currently suspected of sparking the May 21-May 22 riots in Jakarta. However, Fauka denied any involvement in an interview published in the latest Tempo magazine edition. He also maintained that "Tim Mawar" is blamed for numerous public disorders.
