Jokowi to Hold Eid Open House at Palace

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will organize an open house at the State Palace on the first day of Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday, June 5, 2015. Presidential secretariat chief Heru Budi Hartono said the open house would kick off in the morning.
Heru said the event would be open to the public from 10:00 p.m. to noon. “The event will end at 12:30 p.m. at the latest,” Heru told Tempo on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
Heru estimated some 3,000 people would pack the event. He added those willing to shake hands with the president should gather at the National Monument (Monas). “They will be sterilized first there before being transported in groups to the palace,” he said.

Heru said his office had readied 15 small buses to transport people during the event. “So by the time they enter the State Secretariat Ministry everything has been sterilized,” he said.
For the past five years during his reign as president, Jokowi was known to have always switched places in which he celebrated Eid. In 2015, he celebrated Eid in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, followed by Padang, Jakarta, and Bogor in 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively.
