TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Burhanuddin, a legal attorney of Kivlan Zen, a former chief of staff of the Army’s Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) implicated in the case of possession of illegal firearm, will file for a detention delay for his client to the Jakarta Police on Monday, June 3, 2019.
“We will officially request a detention delay. I am en route to the Jakarta Police headquarters,” he said on Monday.
He said the request would be submitted in compliance with the criminal code, which, among others, called for guarantors.

“We will reveal [the guarantors’ names] after the registration. Among them is his family.”
Kivlan Zen has been detained at the Jakarta Military Command’s Military Police Prison in Guntur, South Jakarta, since May 30, 2019. He is charged with Article 1 Verse 1 of the Emergency Law No. 12 Year 1951 on firearms that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years behind bars.
It was suspected that Kivlan Zen’s illegal firearm was linked to six suspects’ futile plot to assassinate four national figures and a pollster head.
