TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The wife of sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Kristiani Herrawati or known as Ani Yudhoyono, has passed away of blood cancer at National University Hospital, Singapore, at 11:50 local time today.

"Ibu Ani has passed away at 11:50, Singapore time," said Democrat Party politician Andi Arif through his official Twitter account today, June 1.

Ani, who was diagnosed with blood cancer, had been treated at the Singapore hospital since February. Her condition previously showed improvement before dropped again on Wednesday, May 29, when she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the National University Hospital.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono accompanied his wife since she was first treated in February.

Former minister Hatta Rajasa said Ani Yudhoyono would be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in Pancoran, South Jakarta. He said that Ani would be brought back to Jakarta on Sunday, June 2, at 7 a.m.

"Insha Allah, on Sunday morning Ibu Ani would be flown to Jakarta," Hatta said Saturday, June 1, adding that the family is currently preparing to bring her to Indonesian Embassy in the city-state.
