TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party Deputy Chairman Fadli Zon was annoyed when asked about Prabowo Subianto’s whereabouts. He was asked to confirm the statement of Ruhut Sitompul, who is a Jokowi campaign team influencer, stating that Prabowo called coordinating minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan from abroad.
Fadli maintained that he cannot confirm Ruhut’s story and pressed that there was no public urgency upon the whereabouts of Indonesia opposition’s leader Prabowo Subianto.
“I cannot confirm that. Because Pak Prabowo can go wherever he wants, be that Yogya, or Malaysia, what has that got to do with anything,” said Fadli in East Jakarta on Thursday, May 30, who mumbled again about what public domain element his whereabouts serves.
“It’s up to him if he just wants to buy a pair of sandals or go for an Umrah, what has that got to do with anything,” said the House Speaker.
Fadli then mentioned the information on Prabowo Subianto’s leaked flight manifest and defended that it was personal data and maintained that nobody prefers their personal information being spread without consent.
Fadli urged the police to immediately arrest the individual who spread the manifest under the ITE Law. “That’s private information. Why spread it like that, it’s a violation of the ITE Law,” said Fadli, who said Gerindra or Prabowo might, or might not file a police report.
Prabowo is currently in Europe. He departed for Austria from Dubai, UAE. His flight information to Dubai was shared publically; he departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta. Prabowo Subianto had also flown from Halim Perdanakusuma to Brunei Darussalam and only spent one day there before returning to Indonesia on Thursday last week on May 16.
