Kivlan Zen to Undergo Police Procedures as Treason Suspect

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police's criminal division (Bareskrim) today will conduct the initial investigation on Kivlan Zen, a former Army chief of staff for the Strategic Reserve Command. The retired major general had been named as a suspect for alleged treason and spreading of false news.
Kivlan's lawyer, Juju Purwantoro said this morning, May 29, that his client will attend the questioning summons.

Kivlan was reported to the police by a man from Serang, Jalaludin. He is accused of spreading false news or hoaxes and posing threat to the national security.
The suspect warrant was issued on May 17, in which Kivlan is ordered to meet investigators of the national police.
Last week, Kivlan Zen asked for the investigation against him postponed, saying he was unwell and was out of town.
