TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly is reportedly deeply disappointed by the news of the arrest against Klas I Mataram immigration officer Kurniadie, who was just named graft suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Following the arrest, the ministry’s inspector general Jhoni Ginting was ordered by minister Laoly to immediately strengthen the integrity of its ranks.
“This is deeply disappointing, especially for Pak Laoly,” said Jhoni at the KPK headquarters on Tuesday, May 28.

Furthermore, he underlined that the ministry highly respects KPK’s legal proceedings and stresses the ministry’s zero-tolerance policy against those who conduct acts that violate the law.
KPK had just named Kurniadie and head of Klas I Mataram immigration’s head of intelligence and enforcement Yusriansyah Fazrin suspects of graft. The two men allegedly accepted graft money up to Rp1.2 billion from the director of PT Wisata Bahagia Liliana Hidayat.
Liliana is strongly believed to have bribed the officers in order to free two foreign nationals that are named suspects on the misuse of tourist visas.
