TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Grab Indonesia Managing Director Neneng Goenadi claims the company contributed up to Rp49 trillion for Indonesia’s economy in 2018.
“We were able to help provide income for Indonesians through our technology and application,” said Neneng on Sunday in the “Festival Patungan Untuk Berbagi” (Collecting for Sharing Festival) at Parkir Selatan, Jakarta.
Furthermore, she also claims that their research revealed that they helped financially empower 38 percent of motorcycle drivers who were previously unemployed and also provided a job opportunity for 33 percent of Grab Car drivers.

Out of all current Grab partners, she says, 31 percent were previously unemployed. “That’s what touches me. We reached the most indigent society,” said Neneng.
The Festival Patungan Untuk Berbagi is a fundraising event sponsored by Grab, Tokopedia, and Ovo held in 8 cities that managed to collect more than Rp3.2 billion up to May 26, 2019, and will last up to June 6.
The funds collected will go to education for the less fortunate and orphans after their partnership with Rumah Yatim. She hopes that the company’s program will run consecutively for Indonesia’s education development.
