TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo confirmed a meeting had taken place between Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo Subianto.
“Yes, the vice president, Pak Jusuf Kalla met [Prabowo]. It was my initiative and Pak Jusuf Kalla's,” said Jokowi on Friday, May 24.
However, the president said he was in the dark about the content of the meeting, and that he had yet to hear from Jusuf Kalla, whom he planned to meet this afternoon.
The president added he could not say yet as to when he could sit together with the Gerindra Party chief patron.

“I don’t know. What’s clear is that right after the election day I said that we intended to meet him, but we have yet to find the time,” says Jokowi.
Earlier, Gerindra Party board member Maher Algadri confirmed the Kalla-Prabowo meeting happened but was incognizant of when and where the meeting took place.
Maher, however, said the meeting was a mere form of communication between both figures to exchange thoughts.
