TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operation of Mass Rapid Transit or MRT Jakarta has returned to normal today, May 24. The corporate secretary Muhammad Kamaluddin said that the train service will start at 5 a.m.
“Starting at 5 a.m., MRT will be fully operated from Lebak Bulus Grab Station until Bundaran HI Station and vice versa,” said Kamaluddin as noted in a written statement, on late Thursday, May 23.
Thus, he added, the departure and arrival schedule of the subway nicknamed Ratangga starts to normal today. But his corporate will further monitor the situation intensively in each area of the station.
Kamaluddin then appealed to passengers to pay attention to the latest schedule of MRT “[published] by our officers, official social media, and MRT website.”
The operation in several stations of Ratangga was closed due to the rally-turned-riot in front of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) office, Central Jakarta. The route engineering was applied for two days, May 22-23.
MRT Jakarta initially closed Bundaran HI Station on May 22, but the day after, only elevated stations remained open for the public. The closure was implemented following the clash between the police and the mob.
As the police blocked Jalan M.H. Thamrin, public facilities including Sarinah Thamrin mall and Transjakarta bus corridor 1 Blok M-Kota were also closed.
