Bankers Reveal Hope over Jokowi Win

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2019 presidential election is over and the Elections Committee (KPU) has announced Joko Widodo and running mate Maruf Amin as winners. The banking industry welcomes the results positively.
Bankers are hoping that Jokowi's win will bring fresh air to the national economy, especially for banks.
BCA president director Jahja Setiaatmadja said that the results must be respected by everyone. According to Jahja, the elected leaders must carry on the excellent performances throughout the 2014-2019 term.
Similarly, Panin Bank CEO Herwidayatmo expects all parties to respect the constitution and the law following the election results' announcement. He also hopes that everyone can show their grace and maturity for the interest of the nation.
Meanwhile, Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia CEO Rino Donosepoetro hopes the president-elect can continue with and speed-up the structural reform whilst maintaining economic stability. Rino also hopes that Jokowi's second term can push for growth by improving the investment climate, thus stimulating export-oriented businesses with high added-values.
