TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned transportation company Transjakarta announced more routes closure at Wednesday evening, May 22, following the rally and riot protesting the 2019 election result.

"The bus cannot operate normally until the authority states a conducive situation," said Transjakarta CEO Agung Wicaksono in a statement released last night, May 22.

The other routes that are closed include Pinang Ranti-Pluit (Corridor 9) and Kebayoran Lama-Grogol (9E) after the Jakarta transportation company closed 11 routes earlier.

The eleven corridors are Palmerah Station-Bundaran Senayan (1F), Palmerah Station-Tosari (1B), Kebayoran Lama-Tanah Abang (8C), Kebayoran-Grogol (9E), Tanah Abang-Blok M (1N), Senen-Tanah Abang (1R), Dukuh Atas-Tanah Abang (DA2), Dukuh Atas-Kota (DA4), Harmoni-Bundaran Senayan (GR1), Tanah Abang Explorer (GR2) dan Kampung Melayu-Tanah Abang (5F).

Besides routes closure, Transjakarta also adjusts its service by diverting or shortening the routes such as in Blok M-Kota (Corridor 1) and Pulo Gadung-Harmoni (Corridor 2).

Agung hoped the situation can soon return to normal, so the bus can also operate normally to serve the public.
