TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Due to security reasons, the House of Representatives (DPR) office complex in Senayan temporarily closes its gates following the May 22 protest that eventually turned into a riot.
“It is closed for security concerns,” said House of Representatives Secretary General Indra Iskandar when Tempo reached him.
According to Indra, administrators of the DPR building are set to evaluate the condition before making further decisions regarding the accessibility of its gates. As of now, there is only one entrance gate being used which is secured by a police security checkpoint.

DPR Spokesman Bambang Soesatyo also said; “I gave a message to the secretary general. I don’t want anything happening to members of the DPR, MPR, or DPD and their entire staffs in the midst of issues on growing threats of stowaways using the rally as an opportunity to create ‘martyrs’.”
