TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two layers of barbed wire fences are installed around the headquarter of the General Election Commission (KPU) on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 21. The barrier also blocks off vehicles access from Bundaran HI (HI Roundabout) to Jalan Imam Bonjol to secure a demonstration on May 22.
Dozens of police personnel stand guard behind the fences. Even more numbers of Indonesian Military (TNI) and Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers are on standby in Lawang Park located behind the commission’s office.

Several tactical vehicles are parked right before the building, including three units of water cannon, one unit of the tactical vehicle, and one unit of Raisa (vehicle used to break the mass) as well as two fire trucks in the area.
The anticipative measures are taken in response to the call for a rally tomorrow initiated by supporters of Prabowo - Sandiaga protesting the 2019 elections result that favors Jokowi - Ma’ruf as the winner of the 2019 presidential election.
