TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) collaborated with the ride-hailing app company Grab Indonesia in developing online-based transportation to generate smart airports.
Not only providing Grab Point or pick-up points for GrabCar users in the international terminal of Soekarno-Hatta Airport and food delivery service named Adels or Airport Delivery Service, but AP II is also innovating to provide electric scooter or eScooter service or Grab Wheels to support mobility in Terminal 3 of the international airport.
The corporate president director Muhammad Awaluddin said that Grab Wheels is the new innovation to enhance operational and customer experience in the airport.
“Two units of Grab Wheels have been undergoing a trial test in Terminal 3 but only used to support the operations. In the near future, travelers can rent Grab Wheels for better customer experience,” said Awaluddin in a written statement.

He added that before the rental service is started, AP II studied the standardization on its service and safety, such as the maximum speed, lanes, users’ age limit, and a few others. “We have 20 units ready across terminals of international and domestic departure and arrivals,” he said.
Travelers can later rent the eScooter at Rp5,000 per 30 minutes that can be activated by scanning a barcode via a smartphone.
