Jokowi Opens Rotiklot Dam; Hopes to Solve Water Crisis in NTT

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Residents of Fatuketi Village,of Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) are happy with the presence of Rotiklot Dam in their hometown. The dam will be inaugurated Monday, May 20, 2019, by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
"We have difficulty getting clean water and irrigation water for our fields," a villager named Emerensiana Moy said on Monday.
This whole time, villagers living near the Rotiklot and Dualaus Dam had difficulties getting. The existence of the Rotiklot Dam is expected to overcome the situation.

"We hope that with this dam here we can can plant and harvest twice a year," he said.
Another resident of Fatuketi, Agatha Abuk, hopes that dam water can irrigate their rice fields, so they can increase their yields. "To this day, we could only harvest five sacks of crops a year. With the dam operating, we could harvest more," he said.
