Earlier, police summoned retired mayor general Kivlan Zen on Thursday, May 16. Kivlan said he was questioned about Eggi’s call for people power and meeting to discuss an action in Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) office on May 10.
Meanwhile, Eggi Sudjana was detained by the police since Monday afternoon, May 13. The PAN politician who was also active in the PA 212 was named suspect for allegedly calling for people to stage a demonstration or people power related to results of the 2019 general elections. The police examined the case following two reports to National Police and Jakarta Metro Police.
A day before Kivlan was examined, PDIP politician S. Dewi Ambarwati a.k.a. Dewi Tanjung also reported Amien Rais to Jakarta Police for the same reason she reported Eggi Sudjana. She opined the call for people power movement as a treason attempt and was worrying among the public.
