TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Wahana Auto Ekamarga, the official distributor of Land Rover and Jaguar is considering to bring Jaguar’s latest full-electric SUV I-Pace to the Indonesian market.

Jaguar and Land Rover Indonesia Marketing Director Jentri Izhar talking to Bisnis.com revealed that the company is aiming to import the Jaguar I-Pace after it was recently launched in Singapore.

According to Jentri, Indonesian consumers are enthusiastic toward the I-Pace and show a potential market for the electric vehicle that could travel 400-kilometers in one single charge.

However, the company is considering waiting for government regulations that would better support the existence of the I-Pace in Indonesia.

They also said that essential infrastructures in the form of charging stations will be crucial in developing the market for electric vehicles in Indonesia.

“Many asked about the car and showed interest in purchasing it, but unfortunately we can yet sell it, but we will continue to work hard so that Jaguar fans can get the I-Pace,” said Jentri.

Besides the Jaguar I-Pace, another updated model planned to be imported to Indonesia is the latest Range Rover Evoque. Wahana Auto Ekamarga is eyeing to sell 200 cars from both brands in 2019.
