TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of the Elections Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) Fritz Edward Siregar announced that the board will not be able to grant the specific request to stop the ongoing vote count information system (situng) coming from the Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno campaign team.
“Bawaslu states that the Situng will be continued and asks the KPU to fix their data input process and verification to validate the results,” said Fritz in Jakarta today.

Furthermore, Bawaslu maintained that the KPU bears the authority to hold the Situng in terms of presenting transparency to the public. However, Fritz reminded the KPU to take extra care before presenting data to avoid creating polemic among the public.
Bawaslu previously read out the court verdict for Prabowo Subianto’s campaign team regarding allegations of a rigged Situng and deems KPU had violated the situng input procedure. However, Bawaslu will not grant the request to halt the Situng process and rather demand that the KPU fix their mistake in the next three days.
