TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The man who threatened to behead President Joko Widodo is still in police custody to undergo intensive interrogation. HS (25) was questioned by the Jakarta Metro Police's Crime Division from Monday afternoon until midnight.
HS was seen exiting the interrogation room at 00:00 on Tuesday, May 14. He ignored reporters' questions and cover his face as he entered a room at the police station.
Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono told reporters on Monday that HS was being detained for investigative reasons.
A video recording shows HS standing among a crowd of protesters in front of the General Election Supervisory Agency's (Bawaslu) office on Friday, May 10. In the video, the young man claimed to be from Poso, Central Sulawesi. He said that he was ready to decapitate Jokowi's head.
Later it was discovered that HS was actually as a resident of Palmerah, West Jakarta, who now resides in Parung, Bogor. The police arrested HS at the Metro Housing Complex in Parung, Bogor Regency, on May 12.
Argo said that HS' remark falls under the category of a violent threat, which is a violation of both the Criminal Code and the ITE Act.
