Blancpain GT Asia; Rio Haryanto - David Win 2nd Place in Buriram

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - T2 Motorsports racers Rio Haryanto and David Tjiptobiantoro managed to secure second place in ProAm class of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia's 3rd series at Buriram Circuit, Thailand, Saturday, May 11. In overall GT3, both racers finished at 7th position.
David, the first driver in the race that was started at 15:30, started at the 14th position in overall and at 6th position in its class. In the first 30 minutes, David managed to secure 10th place in overall race before switching role with Rio.
Then, Rio managed to secure 7th position in overall race and second position in its class.
Irmawan Poedjoadi as the team principal extended his gratitude to all of the Indonesian people who support T2 Motorsports. "We would like to thank all of the Indonesian people who support T2 Motorsports. Rio and David are able to fly the national flag Merah-Putih at Chang International Circuit, Thailand, thanks to your prayers and supports," he said in a press conference received by Tempo, Saturday, May 11.
He explained that the team had enough preparation for the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia in Buriram. They started the day by the official practice at 09:00 for 30 minutes.
Irmawan admitted he was quite impressed with the result of official practice achieved by the two Indonesian drivers. "Rio Haryanto dan David Tjiptobiantoro showed a significant development, they secured the fifth position in this morning's official practice,” he said
Next, T2 Motorsports will face two qualifying races which will see the grid position. David Tjiptobiantoro will drive for the first qualifying round and Rio Haryanto will take the task at the second round.
The 4th race of Blancpain GT World Challenge, that can be watched through its official YouTube channel GTWorld or TV Fox Sports, will be held on Monday, May 12, at 11:45.
