TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned toll operator PT Jasa Marga announced fares in Soekarno-Hatta Airport toll or Sedyatmo toll increased and would take effect starting May 12, said the corporate operation director Subakti Syukur.
“New tariff will be applied per May 12 at 00:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB),” said Subakti in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 9.
The new tariff implementation was based on the evaluation carried out by the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) once every two years. The BPJT head Danang Parkesit said the toll fare was adjusted to the inflation.
Meanwhile, the tariff hike was referred to Law No. 38 of 2004 concerning road and Government Decree No. 15 of 2015 as well. According to the two regulations, the new tariff was revised based on the previous one (1+inflation). The inflation in question was the inflation of Jakarta and Tangerang city that were connected by the toll road to the airport.
Based on the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the inflation per September 4, 2018, in the capital city was recorded at 7.74 percent, while in Tangerang was 7.75 percent.
“So we use the lowest inflation rate at 7.74 percent,” he added.
Based on Jasa Marga information, here are the new tariff for the airport toll:
Group I (cars): Rp7,500 from previously Rp7,000
Group II (trucks and buses): Rp10,000 from Rp8,500
