TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo expressed his comments towards the 2018 financial statement of Indonesian flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia, which has triggered a polemic. Mardiasmo, who is also the Chief of the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia - IAI), will incite a representative of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (Dewan Standar Akuntansi Keuangan - DSAK) to discuss the issue.
"I as a deputy minister and I invited the Financial Accounting Standards Board to prepare everything, and they will report the result of the discussion," Mardiasmo said on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
Previously, a polemic was raised due to rejection from two of the state-owned airline, Chairal Tanjung and Dony Oskaria, against the financial statement. Chairal and Dony asserted that the statement was in contradiction with the Standard Financial Accounting Statement No. 23 for recording incomes still in the form of account receivables.
Furthermore, Mardiasmo said that later on, the discussion will be focused on the flow of the drafting of the financial statement. "The DSAK will review the transactions in details, the Memorandum of Understanding, must be [reviewed] in detail," Mardiasmo explained.
The whole process is aimed at investigating the troublesome financial statement. "Well, everything, how is the preparation [to make the financial statement], how is the profit, how is it existing currently," he added.
