TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party deputy chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad says his party is optimistic that the coalition of parties supporting Prabowo's is still solid. His statement is made to remark the meeting between President Joko Widodo with Democrat Party's Joint Task Force (Kogasma) commander Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, or AHY.
"We are still certain and trust that the Democrat Party and other coalition parties remain solid with the Adil Makmur Coalition," Dasco said in Jakarta, Thursday, May 2.
According to Dasco, his party cannot prohibit members of the coalition parties from meeting the government. However, he still believes that parties in the Adil Makmur Coalition are still solid even though some of the party leaders held a meeting with Jokowi.
"Because this is politics; it is dynamic. It is the political right of each party," he said.
Jokowi met AHY at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, May 2, 2019. He said he came on Jokowi's invitation. "Yes, invited," Agus Harimurti said as he headed towards the Merdeka Palace.
On April 24, the National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Zulkifli Hasan also met with Jokowi. This meeting was held after the inauguration of Maluku Governor Murad Ismail. Zulkifli said the meeting was held in his capacity as Speaker of the MPR.
