TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The national campaign team of Joko "Jokowi" Widodo - Ma'ruf Amin (TKN) recently handed over a report on the total receipt of its campaign funds to the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu). Represented by its treasurer Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, the team claimed that it accepted IDR 606 billion for campaign practices.
"The total funds received by TKN is IDR 606,784,634,772,” said Trenggono after submitting the report in Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, May 2, 2019.
The campaign team obtained donation funds from various sources; IDR 79 billion from a number of political parties in the coalition, IDR 251 billion from different groups, IDR 21 billion from individuals, and IDR 253 billion from 40 institutions or non-government business entity.
"Most of the funds came from companies, entrepreneurs," Trenggono added.
During the campaign period, Jokowi's team made use of IDR 601 billion, leaving a balance of IDR 1 billion and goods valued at IDR 3 billion. The largest expense, Trenggono said, was for operational costs that amounted to IDR 597 billion.
The campaign team general treasurer Rerie Lestari said the operational cost was huge because it was used for a number of regular expenses, such as meetings, campaign tools, and advertisement costs.
"[Operational cost] also included limited, closed, and open meeting as well as campaign tools and advertisement productions and a few other activities," said Ririe in the same location.
