Iranian Man Found Dead in Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - A man was found dead hanging at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) on Wednesday morning, May 1. The man is known to be Garavand Iraj, 39, an Iranian national.
"We discovered the identity from his green card," said Sirjon Tanjung, health officer at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The police estimated that the man committed suicide around midnight.

Iraj's body was found hanging from a tree in the Terminal 3 garden. His baggage was found not far from the location.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief, Sr. Comr. Viktor Togi Tambunan, said that based on his travel documents, Iraj's was supposed to have left for Malaysia from CGK before flying to Auckland, New Zealand on May 1 from Kuala Lumpur.
