TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - A man turned himself into the police admitting that he had killed his wife. He said that decided to admit his crime because he had been haunted by the wife's ghost.
"The suspect turned himself into the Serpong Police in South Tangerang," Bekasi Metro Police chief Sr. Comr. Candra Sukma Kumara said on Monday, April 29.
Tugimin (47) said he strangled his wife to death at their home in Karang Bahagia, Bekasi. He hid the body in their bedroom and left it to decay.
"The body was found on Friday by neighbors who smelled something foul coming out of the house," Candra said.
After killing his wife, Tugimin said was on the run, staying in several areas in Central Java. During his runagate, he claimed that he was haunted by his wife's ghost.
Tugimin is now being detained at the Bekasi Police station. He claimed to regret killing his wife of six years and said he committed the murder out of anger because the wife kept insulting him for making little income.
Tugimin is charged with committing premeditated murder and facing life in prison or the death penalty.
