TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mayday Madness is an annual online shopping festival held every May 1 to commemorate the labor day. Established since 2015, the event offers free vouchers, discount over 50 percent, and promotions in partnership with banks, brands, and other activities. This year, the festival starts from April 30 until May 4.
A total of 65 online shops or e-commerce join the festival, including Blibli, Erafone, Fossil, and Wacoal, among others. More stores providing special promotions can be seen via ItsMayday.com.
“We have also filtered the discounts. We don’t want to offer 90 percent cash back with a maximum amount of Rp2,000. We don’t want it like that,” said the event committee Taufik Darmawan in South Jakarta, Thursday, April 25.
Taufik explained there are four kinds of promotions presented during the online shopping festival. First, the crazy coupon that is a one code coupon all participants could use in all merchants on May 1. Second, a one-hour flash sale held by two e-commerce offering special promotion above 50 percent dubbed Midday Madness on May 2-3.
In addition, Mayday Madness provides a general discount of up to 80 percent for all participants and additional discounts for BCA holder. “All information is published in the website, so all coupon discount can be accessed via ItsMayday.com,” Taufik added.
