TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT Jakarta) president director William Sabandar said the 50 percent discount of MRT tariff would remain valid tomorrow, May 1 until the next two weeks.
“Yes, the discount is available until the next two weeks, but we’re waiting for Governor’s decision first,” said William in MRT Dukuh Atas Station, Tuesday, April 30.
He explained the recommendation on the extended period of the discount was aimed at disseminating Indonesia’s first subway to the public, hoping it would increase user’s loyalty as in line with the higher number of passengers.
“The promotion of 50 percent discount is really helpful to urge the public to use MRT in Jakarta. That’s why we’re suggesting the discount extension for two weeks or more,” he added.
Earlier, 50 percent discount was kicked off for an entire month of April 2019 starting from the subway’s first commercial operation.
