TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor City Administrators is reportedly prepared to face the lawsuit filed by the Olefin, Aromatic, and Plastic Indonesia Association regarding the region’s policy on limiting disposable plastic bags.
Head of the Bogor City Environment Agency Elia Buntang asserts that Bogor City will never back down upon reducing the use of disposable plastic bags.
“We will not back down and we will continue to make changes. They too have never been responsible in regards of the impact of plastic wastes they produced,” said Elia Buntang on Monday, April 29.

City administrators also plan to impose the limit across traditional markets upon enforcing Bogor City Mayor’s Decree No. 61/2019 on reducing plastic bags.
“Modern markets and retail stores no longer provide plastic bags, starting this Monday we have started to inform traditional markets,” said Elia.
He claims that the city’s regulation has managed to reduce the circulation of 41 tons of disposable plastic bags each month.
