TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Hasyim Asyari announced that the institution was willing to reveal its data and documents to counter the accusations of elections fraud against the KPU.
“The KPU is completely transparent. This means that we are ready to provide statements, reveal our data and documents to clear up the situation,” said Hasyim to journalists at the Elections Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) headquarters in Central Jakarta today.
One public figure that often accuses the KPU of fraud is Amien Rais, a member of the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno campaign team (BPN). Amien also alleged the KPU of bearing a mission to assist the win of incumbent candidates Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin in the presidential election.

The KPU has repeatedly shrugged off such accusations and KPU chairman Arief Budiman once said the allegations had taken its toll on KPU employees.
“It’s tiring to be constantly accused of fraud and being unfair,” said Arif in Semarang on Tuesday, April 19. He said the KPU's tasks were already overwhelming that cheating did not even cross their minds.
Presently, the KPU is recapitulating the votes on the district level, which according to Hasyim was done transparently under the supervision of elections observers and official witnesses.
