Jokowi Holds Meeting with Workers Unions Presidents Nationwide

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo held a meeting today with the country’s workers unions presidents at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java.
According to the All-Indonesia Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI) president Andi Gani Nena Wea, the meeting focused on the issues surrounding Indonesia’s laborers, including the Government Regulation (PP) No.78/2015 on workers wage and protection.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Workers Union (KSPI) president Said Iqbal in the meeting delivered numerous crucial problems faced by Indonesian workers while Indonesia Welfare Labor Confederation (KSBSI) president Mudhofir Hamid touched on social security for informal workers.

Another workers union president present in the meeting was All-Indonesia United Workers Confederation (KPBI) president Ilhamsyah.
Furthermore, Andi said President Jokowi positively responded to the inputs provided by the Indonesian workers' unions presidents and planned to form a joint team to revise the PP 78 that would comprise workers union leaders, entrepreneurs, and the government.
Andi also revealed that Jokowi would be supervising the construction of a workers’ housing complex in South Tangerang by state-owned construction firm PT Pembangunan Perumahan during the May Day rally.
