TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democratic Party Chairman Susilo "SBY" Bambang Yudhoyono gathered a number of the party's directors in Singapore on Saturday, April 20, in relation to the political party's position in Indonesia's current political condition.
On Thursday, April 25, 2019, Democratic Party secretary-general Hinca Pandjaitan explained; "[The meeting] is just to update us, considering [SBY] is currently in Singapore."
He explained that SBY instructed Democratic Party cadres to support the General Elections Commission (KPU) and have them listen to the advice from members of the public.
SBY's message also instructed its members to avoid getting involved in activities that are against Indonesia's constitution and values upheld by Democratic Party's leaders.
SBY explicitly ordered members to anticipate Indonesia's political tension following the 2019 general elections and KPU's vote counting that is ongoing. He reminded that the situation can potentially develop into a threat towards the nation's security.
SBY’s internal political party message was issued just after the arbitrary declaration of Prabowo Subianto – Sandaiga Uno upon winning the presidential election on Thursday, April 18.
