TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential chief of staff Moeldoko strongly suggest that evaluation need to be done to Indonesia’s simultaneous 2019 general elections mainly because of its complexity and the death of poll station workers’ (KPPS).
“I feel many people aspire for an evaluation,” said Moeldoko at the Coordinating Ministry of Political, Law, and Human Rights headquarters in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, April 24.
He said that requests for the evaluation on simultaneous election came from many people, but cannot confirm when such a meeting would be held by the government.
“I don’t know yet, this is a public decision that can’t be taken immediately. It will be discussed with the decision makers,” said Moeldoko.
As it was widely reported, the 2019 General Elections vote for presidential candidates and legislative candidates in the central and regional governments.
Asked whether the Indonesia election can utilize e-votes rather than the traditional method of voting, Moeldoko said that it is possible for this plan to come to fruition although not in the near future.
