TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry will issue a new regulation if airlines refuse to take the initiative to reduce ticket price.
In addition to setting prices based on sub-classes, the government said they would revise the top limit for flights tariff.
There have been public complaints about the surge in airfares since the end of 2018. Stating that he has yet to see significant changes, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has started narrating the option to make changes in aviation rules.

The latest option is adjusting the prices' top limit depending on flight seasons; high and low.
There are also plans to regulate sub-class ticket pricing, a.k.a. price classification based on the type of service provided. This grouping can affect costs when passengers make reschedules or claim refunds.
"We are looking for a solution; which ones are legally possible," the minister said.
