TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) of Jakarta branch election campaign division head, Agung Setiarso, believed his party will bag the highest number of votes in the capital city, that resulted from the party’s internal ballot count.
“The incoming ballots data thus far shows our winning. We can’t release the figure yet, but it’s over 20 percent. Inshallah, we’ll get there,” Agung told Tempo on Tuesday, April 23.
According to the KPU site on April 24, at 01:30 a.m. Jakarta time, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and PKS still perched in the first and second rank in Jakarta Legislative. PDIP collected 19.37 percent, while the islamist party got 17.22 percent of votes.

The figure came from 4.2 percent of incoming votes from 1,117 polling stations (TPS). In total, Jakarta has 29,063 TPS.
The Jakarta Legislative Council’s (DPRD) PDIP faction head, Gembong Warsono, said that his side had an internal tabulation too through the data input of C1 vote tally forms sent by the party’s witnesses in TPS during the voting day. However, he was reluctant to expose the result. “But we pass [the threshold],” Gembong told Tempo on Monday, April 22.
Gembong remained tight-lipped to mention the legislative candidates who were predicted to enter the Council and admitted PKS has been his party main rival in the DPRD.
