JCI Climbs 1.58% during Elections Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) rebounded throughout April 15 to 19. The rally happened before and after the Elections Day, which took place April 17.
According to the Indonesia Stock Exchange's (IDX) data, the index climbed 1.58 percent on Thursday, April 18, closing at 6,507.22.
From April 15 to 19, 43.97 billion shares were traded with transaction value totaling at Rp30.83 trillion. Market capitalization also surged by 1.58 percent to Rp7,401.74 trillion.

Eight out of 10 index-by-sectors strengthened last week, with the property sector recording the biggest gain of 4.52 percent—followed by the various industries index with 4.26 percent.
Sectors that recorded declines were mining and trade, respectively corrected by 0.82 percent and 0.08 percent. In the same period, foreign net buy amounted to Rp522 billion.
